Food Porn Friday: Mandala, Arequipa

Food Porn Friday: Mandala, Arequipa

Since settling in Arequipa, we really haven’t been out much to eat, meaning the opportunities for food porn have been few and far between.

That is likely to change, however, as we’re slowly realising that it may actually be cheaper (and certainly less hassle) to eat out for lunch than to cook at home all the time. Lunch menus are often only S7 (£1.70) for a soup, main, drink and desert. While this is almost as cheap as in Bolivia, buying food in a supermarket is actually a little more expensive here, making eating out regularly a very realistic option.

We did go out once this week, though, to Mandala, a vegetarian place downtown. The food was decent and simple, but mostly I may have been won over by the fact that the soup had alphabet spaghetti in it!
