It’s finally happening. After announcing our plan almost a year ago which then fell through, we are now actually going to be travelling in Asia!
In less than a week, we’ll be in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
I have been to Asia before, but Zab has not, so we’re excited to be going there together. We’ll be gone from Europe for almost three months, and spending time in three countries: Malaysia, Thailand and Taiwan. So what are we going to be up to there?
As I said, we’ll arrive in Kuala Lumpur, spend a week or so there and then a couple of days in the Cameron Highlands. After that, we’ll be housesitting on Penang, an island in northwestern Malaysia over Christmas and New Year. In early 2016, we’ll then likely head to Langkawi before leaving for Thailand.
In Thailand, we’ll spend time in three main areas: beaches in the south (on the Andaman coast), Chiang Mai and Bangkok. We’re planning to spend the majority of our time in Thailand in Chiang Mai catching up on work, eating all the vegan noms and hopefully hanging out with some cool travel bloggers.
I’ve wanted to go to Taiwan for a long time, probably since I first went to Asia in 2009 and got the idea that I could teach English as a foreign language. I would probably already have gone there to get a job if we hadn’t decided to set up a base in Berlin. This trip will be pure tourism, though (and vegan guide research of course!), hopefully including some city time but also taking in the natural beauty of the island.
Would you like to get a postcard from Asia from us?
We haven’t been outside of Europe in almost two years since we got back from South America, so we wanted to do something special to share this exciting trip with our readers. We’ve decided we’ll be sending out some personalised postcards to you from Asia.
To have your chance of receiving a personalised postcard from us, sign up to our newsletter (either with this link or using the form directly above), hit reply to the email with the subject “Indefinite Adventure Newsletter: November 2015” that you’ll receive within 24 hours of signing up, and write to us telling us these three things:
- which country you’d like to get a postcard from (Malaysia, Thailand or Taiwan)
- how you found out about our blog
- what your favourite aspect of the blog is, and/or what you would like to see more of in the future from us
We’ll then choose the most compelling emails and send out a personalised postcard to each person to the address of your choice anywhere in the world. (Oh, and as a side effect of signing up to the newsletter, you’ll also get your own copy of our free ebook!)
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Also, if you have any specific recommendations for the places we’ll be visiting, we’d love to hear them in the comments below.
