With thousands of miles of coastline on the Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean, Mexico doesn’t want for quality beaches. The Caribbean coast of the Yucatan peninsula boast some of the finest beaches in the world, with the beach-front resort town Cancun being famous for its white sands. Further down the coast is Tulum that boasts some of the finest sea-front views found anywhere. On the Pacific Coast of the country the beaches of Los Cabos, near famous party town of Cabo, are renowned for their beauty – with Playa Palmilla being especially picturesque.

The History on Display

Mexico has a long and storied history, and the pre-Colombian period is well preserved thanks to the range of Mayan and Aztec dotted across the country. The best example is at Chichen Itza in the Yucatan. This ancient architectural site has the best-preserved Mayan buildings in the country, with the El Castillo pyramid being the most breathtaking example. Another must-see historical site is the complex of Teotihuacan near the capital Mexico City.

The Tasty Food on Offer

Everybody knows about Mexican cuisine. With food that’s so famous the world over what better place to enjoy it than the source? That being said, there is much more to Mexican cuisine than fajitas and tacos. As it is such a large country, there are different cuisines from across the different states. From the mole sauce in Oaxaca, to the seafood of Veracruz, to the Mayan influenced dishes in Merida, there’s no end to the tasty meals on offer.

The Warm Sunshine

If you want sunshine head to Mexico. With parts of the country with perfect weather all year long, you can expect balmy temperatures between 25-30° in the south and more temperate 20-25° in the north of the country. As excellent as the weather is, it is best to avoid the coastal areas during hurricane season which lasts from June to November.
