From now on, Food Porn Fridays will be a selection of the best places we’ve eaten, snacked or drunk at during the past week.
Of course, you’ll be able to get early access to all the places we check in to every day by following us on Foursquare, which you can do through the website, the iPhone app or the Android app. You’ll also be able to use the app to find cool places around your area too once you join!
This week's food porn includes a lot of cake. Cake cake cake cake cake. Which I'm not complaining about. If you are, you're probably reading the wrong blog.
Pastelería San Antonio
This place wasn't our first choice on the day we decided to eat lunch out, but it proved to be pretty good. The food was simple and tastefully presented, and while it's not the cheapest or most intimate place, it was a much better third option than we had expected!

Dolce Capriccio
We knew we were getting close to this place when we saw people walking by on the street carrying giant cake boxes. Once we sat down, it took me about ten minutes to choose which cake to try from the tantalizing selection on display; I wanted them all! In the end, I went with the ‘cherry fantasy', a mousey creation with layers of cherry goodness, while Zab had the passion fruit cheesecake.

Dédalo Arte y Artesanias
We turned up at this place expecting a cute little artisinal shop, selling local, handmade trinkets or some such, but instead found a series of overly cluttered shops blurring together that sold overpriced, fancy but useless factory-made stuff, which was slightly disappointing. However, the cute café in the courtyard at the back made up for this, with its quaint handwritten menu and selection of loose teas. I had rooibos with vanilla and clove to wash down a crunchy but tasty brownie, and Zab drank a café latte (of course) with his alfajor.

Kulcafé
This German-run café served as a nice place to work for a few hours and for Zab to try something different: a Nutella latte! I had a lemongrass tea, which was simply hot water with a few sticks of lemongrass thrown in (it was better than it sounds). The carrot cake was moist and not too dense, though the apple strudel did tempt me rather (next time). The bagels were generously smothered with their toppings (this one was tuna and avocado), making them a perfect light snack to share.
