A few weeks ago, I tried out something a bit different than our regular Food Porn Friday segment by reviewing some of our favourite places from Arequipa through our Foursquare check-ins, and I decided that I rather prefered that format to the regular one.
So, while in the future there may be the odd Food Porn Friday dedicated to just one place or dish that we've eaten that week if it seems worthy of its own post, the Food Porn Fridays from now on will be a selection of the best places we've eaten, snacked or drunk at during the week.
Of course, you'll be able to get early access to all the places we check in to every day by following us on Foursquare, which you can do through the website, the iPhone app or the Android app. You'll also be able to use the app to find cool places around your area too once you join!
Tierra Santa
To say I excited to learn there was a Middle Eastern restaurant near our Airbnb apartment may be a slight understatement. Along with Indian food, Middle Eastern is the kind of food I've most missed during our time in South America. Unfortunately, we were only just getting over being ill when we visited, so we limited ourselves to falafel and chips. We definitely plan on going back to munch our way through their baba ganoush, fuul, fatoush and shawarma.

Manolo
Manolo is the place for churros in Lima, or so everyone on Foursquare seemed to agree. Not having tried any other churro places yet in the city, I can't say whether or not I agree, but the were rather lovely though I found the chocolate sauce a little too sweet. Certainly how busy the place was when we were there seemed to confirm its popularity.

Hollys Coffee
The lack of seemingly necessary apostrophe in the name at first put me off this Starbucks wannabe, but it is conveniently located round the corner from our apartment, has decent wifi and is a good work space when we want to escape our apartment. The cakes are pretty nice, too.

Sarcletti
This place was a lucky find directly through Foursquare when we were out in San Borja and needed a refuelling stop. The cakes on display were all gorgeous and I could've eaten all of them, but the selection of ice cream, while beautiful, didn't quite tempt me due to the weather. The juices were also large, fresh, tasty and good value.
