It seems almost criminal that we haven't been eating more ice cream in this city known for having the stuff in such quantity and quality as you'd expect to find in Italy. That was remedied somewhat by a former student of mine who we invited to our place for a very pleasant dinner last weekend when he brought a huge tub of the stuff in four different flavours: chocolate and almond, fruits of the forest, dulce de leche with chocolate chip and a mystery flavour for which we weren't able to find an adequate translation. All delicious.
Even between five people, we didn't manage to eat the whole thing (especially as another former student who also came brought a cake, which while very delicious, didn't photograph too well and so doesn't appear here!), so we were left with the remains. Yesterday, we managed to finished it after slowly chipping away at it all week. Now to buy another liter to keep the freezer happy, methinks!
