Since settling in to our Buenos Aires apartment, I've been extremely grateful for one particular feature: our own kitchen!

Sure, we have stayed in hostels that had shared kitchens where we (read: I) could cook, but it's not the same as having your own kitchen. In shared hostel kitchens, I only ever feel inspired to cook functional food: food that will make me no longer hungry and have some nutritional value. In my own kitchen, I can cook for pleasure, making old favourites and experimenting with new things.

Also, I feel like I have a reason now to go shopping for herbs and spices and big bags of wholegrain organic rice that I have my own kitchen, rather than just opting for the simplest, smallest portioned bags of things from the cheapo supermarket.

Since moving in, we've been cooking every day, usually more than once. Here are a couple of the tasty things we've made.
